About Joe
Joe Scott grew up in Baker, LA, as the youngest of three siblings. Joe is an independent rapper and songwriter who got his start as an athlete. In his early years, he only saw rapping as another talent and not something that he considered taking seriously.
However, things changed in 2014, during his senior year in high school. His best friend, Diontrey “Krazytrey“ Claiborne, was shot and killed in his hometown Baker, La. Trey played a significant role in Joe’s beginning stages. He, along with several of their close friends, started a rap group when they were in 6th grade called the Dummy Boyz (DBz). Trey’s passing marked the beginning of Joe’s musical journey as we know it today.
In 2016, while on a baseball scholarship at Baton Rouge Community College, Joe was forced to sit out his sophomore season due to him having shoulder surgery. During his time off, he decided to drop out of college and pursue music full-time. Being offered his first deal in 2015 by well-known Louisiana artist Lil Boosie, he had a decent amount of momentum, and he believed he could make a mark in the industry.
He is still an independent artist, but he is gradually growing and building his stock/value day by day. In 2021 he dropped his debut album, Still Manifesting, charting at #7 on the Apple Hip-Hop charts and #167 across all genres.
Joe has an undeniable sound. From the new generations' melodic flows to the hardcore hip-hop, he can do it all. If you are a fan of music, you should give Joe Scott a listen. He might be your next favorite artist.
